Andrea's Bio

Miss Andrea – Applause Studio Director / Dance Instructor

Miss Andrea has been dancing for over 25 years (since she was 3). She trained with the Royal Academy of Dance (a school based out of London) for the first nine years of her “dance life”. Following that time, she trained with The Studio of Dance in Lake Stevens, under the direction of Lynn Johntry, and The Moving Company in Everett, WA. At The Studio, in addition to ballet, Andrea also studied jazz & tap with Miss Lynn, and hip hop with Miss Alison. Andrea has truly enjoyed the many opportunities for performance that her dance training has afforded her. Highlights include Coppelia, La Boutique Fantasque, Sleeping Beauty, Gershwin Gala, The Red Shoes, The Nutcracker, and many original works. Recently she had the chance to be a back up dancer with Miss Alison for Weird Al Yankovic and helped to coordinate and lead “Thrill Mill Creek” (a tribute to Michael Jackson’s Thriller performance) for the last 2 years.

Miss Andrea began teaching ballet and jazz in 1997. She finds a great deal of joy and happiness in sharing dance with others, whether it be through performing or through helping her students to learn and perfect the art of dance. Students enjoy her gentle and encouraging teaching methods, and her natural grace of movement. Andrea enjoys the outdoors, spending time with her husband Brock, and serving in her church.

She is so excited to be the new director at Applause Studio. “This is a dream job for me! I get to work at my favorite place in the world, a dance studio! I get to work with kids every day and talk with people and help them pursue their passion for the arts!”
